RMRSI AFTERSCHOOL/SUMMER ALLSTARS

RMRSI Afterschool Allstars

RMRSI emphasizes the provision of a safe, secure and supportive environment for our youth between the ages of 4-17 years of age. Keeping in mind our emphases on our adult participants to become economically independent through employment, RMRSI host free after-school programs so that parents can work the needed hours to advance in their place of employment.

During afterschool hours kids are provided homework assistance, tutoring, computer literacy, cultural, educational activities and both snack and dinner. RMRSI has partnered with the local school systems to assist our kids with the currently homework or lesson that they are learning in school. This allows for direct reinforcement of what is being taught at that time as well as seamless interaction between the school and afterschool program.

Lastly, RMRSI also emphasizes different activities during afterschool hours. With help from the Atlanta University Colleges, The Children's Museum of Atlanta, Soccer in the Streets, Cityside Healthcare and Doc B Cares Success Coaching we are able to offer afterschool programs that include:

  • Weekly hands on science coaching and experiments

  • Youth computer training

  • Soccer camps and Street Cups

  • Behavioral counseling

  • Standardized testing tutorial

RMRSI Summer Camp Allstars

The summer months are often welcomed by students and parents as a time for freedom, vacation, and simple relaxing. But for many inner city parents the summers are the most frightening time of the year. While schools provide a safe haven for children during the fall and winter, in the summer months inner city neighborhoods often serves as a child’s babysitter.

RMRSI Summer Camps models as "Transition to Learning" approach to summer care. Students are given sample standardized testing for their upcoming grade level and a personalized summer curriculum is tailored according to their strengths and weakness.

Recreation and exposure activities are stressed during the beginning of the summer and educational activities are stressed as the summer closes. This way students transition back into learning.
