“Empower U” is the central program of Russell Management Resident Services, Inc’s and our partner The Belle Project, Inc.

 

At-risk, low income girl’s ages 10-18 years old will participate in an 8 month program focused on increase positive self-image and acquiring coping skills through fashion and design outlets. Throughout the program youth will be engaged in team building sessions, individual character building, combined with professional and academic development in Fashion & Design.

 

Program focus will be on key topics such as self-esteem, self-perception, self-respect, sexuality, social media. Participants will learn how self image is perceived in the fashion industry, how young girls are perceived, and how they perceive themselves along the guidelines of conformity.  “Empower U” is a program that aims to liberate the negative perceptions young girls have of themselves, and build confident young women by enhancing their interest in fashion and design through creative projects and active engagement opportunities with professionals in the field.
